Kylie

Kylie is a residential house located on the outskirts of a city near the countryside. Like a sunflower, the building rotates with the course of the sun. In winter, solar gains reduce the heating demand, while in summer turning into the shade prevents overheating. Kylie was built as a prefabricated timber frame structure, with oak used for the terrace decking, furniture, wall cladding and parquet flooring. Heating is provided by a groundwater heat pump, and a photovoltaic system on the roof generates electricity. Overall, the house produces more energy than it consumes.

Gilbam

Villa Gilbam is a residential house located on a mountain slope in the Siahkal region of northern Iran. The site covers about 750 square meters and falls about 10 percent from east to west. Two cantilevered volumes extend from the core at ground and first floor levels without touching the ground. The three volumes are angled to form a shared central space with views of the surrounding mountains.

Hikari Tsuzuraori

The staggered cores and the alternately folded roof slope create an opening at the top, admitting sunlight by day and offering a view of the stars at night. The lower floor is a quiet Japanese space for meditation, while the upper floor is open and bright for family life.
